Free Website Traffic Counters/Trackers
These web-based counter and tracker services will track the visitors to your webpage,
including detailed statistics like refering URLs and IP address. They are rated based on their
features and what kind of image they place on your pages.
AddFreeStats Rating: 10/10
-
Though a button is required on your webpage, AddFreeStats is still a good counter with all of the major statistics plus if your visitors are new or returning and the date of their last visit.
Tracksy Rating: 9/10
-
This is a very promising traffic counter. It provides all the features that one would expect from a good web stats application, and it does not require advertising or a recriprocal link. However, it is only free for websites that receive less than 25,000 page views per month. I see no reason that this will not become a very popular option for website traffic monitoring very soon.
1-Counter web site statistics Rating: 9/10
- This looks like a basic hit counter, but it also provides many of the more advanced features you would expect from a full tracking service. It includes the essential refering URL and search engine keyword tools. You have a choice of various fonts and colors for your counter.
Free Website Counter Rating: 8/10
-
This website provides basic free website counters. The counters come in 14 styles, ranging from low-profle to bright and colorful.
WebSTAT Rating: 8/10
-
Another very good option for free website statistics for low-traffic sites, WebSTAT is free for websites that get less than 20,000 hits per month. A button link-back is required, but WebSTAT definitely provides all the features that I look for from a counter/tracker service.
CQ COUNTER Rating: 8/10
-
I would recommend CQ Counter if you're looking for a counter that provides all the key features of other counters with a small presence on your page. It has all the major reports, such as refering URLs, geography, uniques ect...
eXTReMe Tracking Rating: 8/10
-
A good counter/tracker, eXTReMe Tracking also has a recognizable logo frequently seen thought the web. They have all of the standard features that you see with most counter/tracker services.
Free Counter Plus Rating: 7/10
-
This service provides a fairly basic hit counter with some extra features, such as browser and platform statistics. Unfortunately, it does not appear to offer information about referring URLs or the geographic location of your visitors. In addition, a small text ad accompanies the counter.
FakeCounter.com Rating: 6/10
-
Do you really care about what the counter on your homepage says? Would you like it to be some really high number? If so, FakeCounter.com is for you. FakeCounter.com provides a graphic that you place on your page that looks like a real hit counter, though it's just a image that has nothing to do with the number of visitors your website has received.
RealTracker Free Rating: 4/10
-
The main reason why this recieved such a low rating is that a small advertisement (88x31 button) is included with every counter that you must put on your site. There must be counter services that won't ask this of you, right?
