These services are rated based on features, reliability and popularity, among other factors. This area of free stuff has been greatly narrowed recently due to declining advertising revenue.

  This is the only service that I have found that is still doing free mailing lists, and it rocks! Although a little slow at times, at no cost it will send out your mailing list, of unlimited size, with no advertising! It has plenty of the features that everyone else had, but they're still able to do all this for free. Strongly recommended.
