Free Website Promotion Advice & Services
Website Prommotion is a major industry on the Internet, with several sites devoted to the topic of promoting your own website.
There are numerous ways to promote your website for free online. Because these are just websites and no freebie is being offered, they are not rated and are in alaphabetical order.
Other promotional services are at the bottom of this page.
"HOW TO make $50 to $150 per hour for your opinion"
- This is an e-mail based course that claims to show you how you can earn money by completing surveys on the Internet. However, there is no privacy policy posted on this website, so I would be careful about using your primary e-mail address.
Internet Marketing
- This website offers reviews of Internet marketing related e-books. There are also reviews of software programs, a free e-zine, and marketing articles.
Website Awards Worksheet
- Download the Website Awards Worksheet, which lists hundreds of awards for your website to win. There is also a lot of information about awards available online.
AddPro
- Submit your URL for free to
more than 30 of the most popular search engines on the web. You can also create meta tags for your site.
internetmarketinginfo.com
- This page has tons of information for all stages of building your website, with nice articles and tips. It's certainly one of the best that I've seen in a while.
How to Publicize your E-Zine
- Some tips for e-Zine publishers.
Online SoHo
- Website resource for small businesses.
OnPoint
- This is the interesting website of an interesting company. They specialize in "unconventional marketing", college marketing and youth marketing. The freebies on their site are a monthly newsletter and an ebook.
PromotionTools.net
- A nice link directory and weekly newsletter about website promotion.
Promotion World
- Lots of free promotion tips and articles.
Pure Promotion
- Free membership to this site promotion service.
123 Site Promotion
- Another site loaded with promotional ideas, hints, and tools.
Search Engine Optimization 2001 Newsletter
- Here's a free internet marketing newsletter focusing on the highly important task of search engine optimization. The newsletter is distributed weekly.
LinkBuff.com
- This is a service that helps webmasters find sites to exchange links with. While I believe that such a directory is a good idea, it looks like LinkBuff.com needs greater participation with more popular sites to make it into a useful promotion tool.
E-zine Resources
- Ezine-Coop
This site promotes an innovative idea - that advertisers can submit ads to e-zines in exchange for subscriptions. The other free service they offer is a free marketing consultation for websites or newsletters.
Ezine Directory
- If you're an e-zine publisher, you might find this site very useful. You can browse through their huge directory of e-zines and submit your own for free.
Banner Exchanges
All 4 Traffic Rating: 10/10
- For every one banner you display, they will display your banner on 3 member sites, which is the highest exchange rate on the 'Net. The way that they do that is by showing three smaller ads inside each banner, kind of like the old BannersgoMLM service. However, it's too early to tell what the quality of the banners on their exchange is going to be right now.
Visitors.ws Rating: 9/10
- I have to say that this is the best pop-under exchagne network I've seen. There is a 1:1 exchagne ratio (if you link back) and the pop-under ads appear after you close the window. However, your site appears in a frame when it pops up on other sites.
LinkBox.ws - Text Link Exchange Network Rating: 8/10
- This is a text link exchange network where you exchange links on a CPC basis (with a possible 1:1 ratio, although not all members receive this ratio). This is certainly competitive with all other text link exchanges currently online.
Links Virus Rating: 8/10
- This service provides a directory of partners for indirect frontpage link exchanges, in which you link to websites who commit to link to other websites in their directory, hiding the link exchanges from Google. The main problem with the service appears to be that some of the websites in the network have low pagerank values.
Keywords.ws Rating: 8/10
- A very similar program to LinkBox.ws. This link exchange service is based on one-word keywords instead of full text links.
PlainLinks.com - Text Link Exchange Rating: 8/10
- Another very similar program to LinkBox.ws. This link exchange service is based on one-line text links instead of one-word ads or groups of links.
RLSC Network Banner Exchange Rating: 8/10
- This looks like a fairly good banner exchange network, you can have up to a 4:5 ratio if you place their banner at the top of your page. Also you get 1000 impressions to start with when you join.
YFW Bannerexchanger Rating: 6/10
- The only obvious issue with this site is that they have a very low exchange ratio (2:1). As you can see above, there are many sites that offer a better ratio than that. To their credit, though, you get a bonus 1000 impressions when you sign up.
Free Banner Exchange Network Rating: 5/10
- While this banner network does offer a 3:4 ratio, which is acceptable, I have some dobuts about the reliabiltiy and quality of their service. This is because they seem to have trouble communicating in English. I simply cannot judge the actual value of their service from their simplistically designed website. They also claim to have a referal system.
