CGI Resources
Electronic-Greetings
Rating: 9/10
- Add your own electronic greeting card system to your website,
use their images or use you own. Free, Customizable, and requires no
programming knowledge. Looks like an amazing service, and I would recommend it to any webmaster looking for a way to add "stickiness" to their site.
votations.com Rating: 9/10
- This looks like an amazing free remotely hosted poll and survey service. However, there's no other services on the site.
Createonlineforms.com Rating: 8/10
- This service allows webmasters who lack their own CGI capabilities to create online feedback forms on their websites. While this service does not appear to be heavy on advertising, the only examples that I could find seemed to be simple webpages that did not seemlessly integrate with their respective websites.
Alxnet Rating: 8/10
- A nice, professional looking site that offers you polls, forums, guestbooks, and quizzes. Their advertisements are pretty reasonable, and they offer a nice degree of customization.
WebEnalysis Online Polls Rating: 8/10
- WebEnalysis offers free online polls that are fully customizable. You design the look and the feel of the web poll, and we host the results. Your visitors will not even know that they left your site.
Dream Tools Rating: 7/10
- This site offers two kinds of webmaster tools: polls and message boards. They look pretty advanced, if you're looking for polls or message boards you should check them out.
Cgi2You Rating: 7/10
- Counters, guestbooks, message boards and polls await those who visit Cgi2You.com. They don't look like the best CGI general resource site, but it's worth a look.
RateSaver Links Page Rating: 7/10
- Here is a free links page generator for webmasters looking to implement an automated links page building system. The page only provides you with a CGI program, which you must host yourself, which means that you should have some webmastering experience before choosing this option or look for a remotely hosted links page system.
YourCGI.com Rating: 6/10
- This site offers many fairly unique cgi resources for your site. However, they don't look very useful and some could be accomplished using your own basic knowledge of Javascript.
Misc./Other
Add... Audio to Your Website Rating: 10/10
- This free download can help you add audio clips to your website for a variety of purposes. It generates HTML code for you to insert into your webpages.
eMartCart Shopping Cart for PayPal Rating: 9/10
- If you sell goods via PayPal, you might want to check this out. This is a free shopping cart system that works with PayPal, just as you might see on a larger shopping site. While they also have a fee-based version, the free version looks like it might be quite useful.
MonMe.com Rating: 9/10
- This service offers to regularly check your website to ensure that it is operational. Obviously, this service is particularly useful if you don't check all your websites frequently but check your e-mail on a regular basis. The only thing they ask for in return is a reciprocal link from your site.
NetResponders.com Rating: 7/10
- Here is a resource that many webmasters will find quite useful. You can set up an autoresponder free of charge, with up to 10 follow-up messages, up to 1000 subscribers, and both HTML and plain text capabilities. Some advertising is placed on your outgoing messages.
